Professional and Technical Events by Young Professionals of Windsor

The young professionals’ section of Windsor organized three events to promote networking, improve technical, and professional skills of Windsor young professionals. Centre for Engineering Innovation open house was organized on 2nd March 2018 to introduce IEEE to new students. The event had over 30 enthusiastic participants. The second event of March was held on 6th March 2018 at the Centre for Engineering Innovation. The speaker, Syed Hosain from Testforce delivered a lecture on “Fundamentals of RF Measurements”. The event had a great participation of 17 students.

A lecture on “BioMEMS in Highly Sensitive Diagnosis” by Dr. Arezoo Emadi was delivered on 23rd March 2018 at the Centre for Engineering Innovation. Dr. Emadi’s presentation about the development of highly sensitive diagnostic and monitoring tools is essential for most engineering fields, especially for health and environmental maintenance. It was truly intriguing to learn about the new generation of high-performance devices for medical application, called BioMEMS. A total of 21 student participants were present at the event.

The Windsor YP section plans to organize an event on “Energy Savings in Buildings” in April, which will be conducted by Frank Mills, Technical Director – Sustainability, Energy, Sustainability Building Services Engineering and Fire Engineering.
